6th Grade Middle School Math ACE Teacher - Gifted

About the position

Blackhawk Middle School is seeking a versatile Gifted teacher that has a working knowledge of grades 6-8 Next Generation Math standards. In addition, this teacher must be familiar with current pedagogy and embrace a philosophy of continuous improvement through teamwork, collaboration, and shared leadership. Potential candidates must have the ability to design and implement rigorous curriculum inclusive of a balanced assessment system, and possess excellent working knowledge of the characteristics and academic and social/emotional needs of gifted students. This teacher must also provide direct, specialized literacy and numeracy instruction to gifted students.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement rigorous curriculum for gifted students.
• Provide direct, specialized literacy and numeracy instruction.
• Embrace a philosophy of continuous improvement through teamwork and collaboration.
• Understand and apply the Next Generation Math standards for grades 6-8.
• Assess and address the academic and social/emotional needs of gifted students.

Requirements

• Professional Educators License with Middle School Professional Educators License endorsement.
• Middle School Math endorsement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to be an effective member of a team.
• Commitment to data-based decision making and continuous improvement model.

• Successful teaching experience desired, but not necessary.
