About the position

Hickory Hill Academy is seeking a warm, experienced, and qualified Assistant Teacher to support our team of 4K teachers. This role is essential in creating a caring and safe environment for children aged 12 weeks to 8th grade, assisting in educational activities, and fostering positive relationships with students and their parents. The Assistant Teacher will help implement a quality educational program and document children's progress under the guidance of the lead teachers.

Responsibilities

• Support ECE Teachers in creating a caring and safe environment for children.
• Assist in implementing a quality school age educational program.
• Develop positive relationships with children and their parents.
• Observe and document children's interests and progress, relaying information back to Teachers.
• Implement developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs.

Requirements

• Completed coursework towards an Associate's Degree in education or related field; completed Associate's Degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of professional education experience.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Demonstrated professional demeanor with exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
• High energy and ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents).
• Successful completion of state-required background checks and health screening.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Proficient in Google Workspace.

Nice-to-haves
