About The Position

This position is for a full-time 3rd-grade ELA & SS Teacher for the Spring 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will be responsible for providing students with appropriate learning activities and experiences to foster their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Meet Texas “highly qualified” standards.
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the campus.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
  • Ability to use computers including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
  • Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for individual differences.
  • Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of the immediate supervisor.
  • Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, communicating these objectives to the students.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs and capabilities of the students.
  • Strive to implement the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
  • Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports.
  • Refer students for evaluation by district specialists as required.
  • Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Assist the administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
  • Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintain order in the classroom fairly.
  • Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes when required.
  • Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers, and evaluate their job performance.
  • Maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Participate in district and campus staff development.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues.
  • Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and community members.
  • Prepare and submit lesson plans in a timely manner in the school's utilized platform.
  • Maintain a minimum number of grades in the Gradebook in a timely manner.
  • Meet with the mentor teacher regularly (if a new teacher).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
