About the position

This is an opportunity to develop a career with Rentokil Initial by becoming a Hygiene expert with the opportunity to develop into Sales or Operational roles. Initially you will be enrolled on the Rentokil Initial South Africa trainee programme where you have a learning experience to build your technical knowledge and skills in a practical work environment. This will be followed by our Aspiring Sales Programme to develop your sales knowledge, skills and experience. During the trainee program you will complete internal technical training and undertake real field based operational on the job learning by joining our Health & Hygiene service teams on their service runs to ensure that you understand the technical aspects of our products and what it takes to provide a hygienic environment for our customers - it is about providing excellent customer service and responding to them promptly while displaying a positive attitude in everything we do. Following an assessment at the end of the 8 month trainee programme, if successful and vacancies are available, you will be given the opportunity to apply for placement in Sales, Operational or Technical roles.

Responsibilities

  • Train as a hygiene infield service technician to gain on the job operational experience.
  • Work as an Initial Technician assistant providing a quality service in line with Standard Operating Procedures, Safe Work Procedures and Safety, Health & Environment requirements.
  • Achieve standards of productivity as set by the company by following routes and service plans.
  • Ensure the usage of the correct Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Attend all internal Technical, Product and Sales training as required.
  • Complete assessments as and when required.
  • Attend the Aspiring Sales Consultant Programme (if you qualify).
  • Complete, update and maintain all required sales administration and reporting systems in compliance to policies and procedures and SHE requirements.
  • Locate potential business through research, prospecting, tele-canvassing, enquiries and cold calling.
  • Undertake needs analysis by conducting thorough survey of client premises.
  • Focus on client retention through relationship building.
  • Identify cross and up selling opportunities.

  • Proven ability of technical learning and practical application.
  • Willing to learn on the job through 'hands on' experience.
  • Ability to develop working relationships with customers.
  • Determination and motivation to achieve business targets and work hard.
  • Be organised and have the ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Good numerical, literacy & administrative skills.
  • Problem solver and solution driven.
  • Recent Matriculant.
  • Drivers Licence - essential with good ability to drive a vehicle.
  • No previous experience required - a passion for customer service, health and hygiene and sales is essential.
