About the position

The 3D Revit Modeler position at Actalent is a critical role focused on facilitating fully coordinated shop drawings for a significant residential construction project. The successful candidate will be responsible for acting as a model coordinator, utilizing Revit to produce accurate fabrication and construction drawings for various structures, mechanical systems, and millwork. This position requires a high level of proficiency in Revit, as well as the ability to coordinate and integrate AutoCAD drawings and trade models from multiple disciplines to create a comprehensive and precise set of construction and installation drawings. In this role, the individual will take detailed AutoCAD plans provided by architects and transform them into a complete 3D model using Revit. The modeler will ensure that layouts for mechanical systems (including HVAC and ductwork), electrical, plumbing, and structural elements are properly aligned and free of clashes. Coordination with engineering trades such as MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), structural engineers, architects, and vendors is essential to ensure that all designs and calculations are accurately reflected in the Revit model. Additionally, the modeler will create 2D AutoCAD drawings based on the Revit model for various applications, including millwork and architectural needs. The role also involves cutting sections of the model to produce shop drawings for the construction staff and conducting site surveys at the job site in South Salem, NY, at least once a week to gather data for the project. The position offers the opportunity to develop as-built drawings to be handed over to the architect, ensuring that all aspects of the project are documented accurately. This is a hybrid position, allowing for a mix of on-site and remote work, providing flexibility while maintaining the necessary oversight of the project. Responsibilities

• Take extremely detailed AutoCAD plans from the architect and create a complete 3D model of the project in REVIT.
• Ensure proper layouts for mechanical (HVAC, ductwork), electrical, plumbing, and structural and eliminate clashes.
• Coordinate with all engineering trades (MEP, Structural), Architect, and vendors to ensure all engineering designs and calculations are inputted into the Revit model.
• Create 2D AutoCAD drawings based on Revit model for millwork, architect, etc.
• Cut sections of the model to produce shop drawings for the construction staff.
• Travel to the job site (South Salem, NY) at least once a week to conduct surveys to be translated into usable data.
• Develop as-built drawings to turn over to the architect.

Requirements

• 5+ years minimum experience in producing highly detailed Revit models.
• Fully proficient in using both AutoCAD and Revit to produce technical drawings.
• Extensive experience creating Revit families.
• Experience creating MEP layouts.
• Ability to travel to the job site in South Salem, NY 1+ days per week depending on project needs.
• Architectural background is a plus.
