About the position
The 2nd Shift Sheet Metal Fabricator at Vollrath Company is responsible for performing a variety of sheet metal operations to meet quality standards. This role involves setting up and executing tasks such as shearing, forming, punching, deburring, and spot welding. The position requires planning activities based on technical documents and performing inspections to ensure quality. The fabricator will also handle material and maintain safety practices while assisting others as needed.
Responsibilities
- Set up and perform a wide variety of sheet metal operations including shearing, forming, punching, deburring, and spot welding.
- Plan sequence of activities from sketches, blueprints, process sheets, and established procedures.
- Perform complex layouts, setups, and inspections to meet quality standards.
- Initiate corrective actions to resolve complex problems with templates and tooling.
- Perform own material handling and maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.
- Assist and advise others as required.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as required.
Requirements
- Ability to set up and perform various sheet metal operations.
- Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents.
- Knowledge of quality standards and inspection processes.
- Ability to perform material handling and follow safety practices.
- Basic tool ownership to efficiently perform the job.
