About the position
The P.M. Production Helper/GBH position is available in the Packaging Department of our company, which has a rich history of connecting people through food since 1869. The role involves various packaging duties and temporary assignments throughout Mixing, Make-up, and Packaging areas to cover job vacancies as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor. The successful candidate will also be responsible for sanitation duties, operating Lift Trucks and Powered Pallet Jacks, and performing basic preventive maintenance on equipment. The position requires a mechanical aptitude as it may involve relieving Machine Set-up duties. The Production Helper/GBH must support all plant safety, quality, SAP, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives, actively participating in audits and team concepts while maintaining a positive attitude to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform various packaging duties in the Packaging Department.
- Cover temporary assignments in Mixing, Make-up, and Packaging areas as needed.
- Complete sanitation duties as assigned.
- Operate Lift Truck and Powered Pallet Jack as required.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Support plant safety, quality, SAP, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a 5S Leader and participate in audits.
- Display a positive attitude and collaborate within a team environment.
Requirements
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Passing score on the Physical Capacity Screening may be required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
