About the position
The Retail Work Experience Trainee is a temporary position designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in retail operations. This role focuses on teaching basic tasks and skills necessary for success in the retail environment, with participants placed at various work sites to gain unique experiences in skills attainment.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service and engage with each customer in a friendly manner.
- Follow all safety rules and exercise caution in all work-related activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to social distancing and personal protective equipment policies.
- Receive and accurately record donations using technology.
- Sort, clean, and stock merchandise on the selling floor according to company standards.
- Merchandise and maintain the sales floor to meet standards and guidelines.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
- Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
- Perform necessary janitorial work as needed.
- Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Must meet program requirements for participation in the work experience program.
- Ability to engage with customers and provide excellent service.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols in a retail environment.

- Previous experience in retail or customer service is a plus.
