About the position

BELIEVE Circle City (BCC) is an early college and career-focused high school that uses real-world experiences, societal norms and expectations to foster the academic achievement, autonomy, and agency needed to be a contributing member of our evolving society. BCC focuses on identity and leadership development, and explicitly develops our scholars and staff emotionally, socially, and culturally. BCC provides a rigorous curriculum filled with purpose-building experiences in service of creating dynamics for our scholars to flourish in their future pursuits.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee programs that prepare scholars for post secondary readiness.
  • Implement programs that provide scholars with early exposure to various career pathways, including internships, mentorship programs, career fairs, and partnerships with local businesses and industries.
  • Understand the criteria and process for dual credit enrollment and alignment of school and college courses.
  • Understand the criteria and process for work based learning programs and alignment of school and technical courses.
  • Collaborate with Ivy Tech Community College and other college partners to develop individualized degree plans in higher education.
  • Collaborate with career partners to develop individualized career certification plans in the workforce.
  • Collaborate weekly with the Dean of Early College and Career team and Ivy Tech Community College staff and career partners.
  • Understand the master schedule process and work with the guidance counselor to schedule scholars in various schedules.
  • Assist with coordinating and interpretation of all state assessments required for graduation.
  • Co-plan school guidance and counseling programs to ensure they meet identified needs.
  • Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of guidance programs.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all required physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents.
  • Develop a college-going, career-ready culture by facilitating activities such as college visits and career fairs.
  • Manage all external early college and early career partners.
  • Teach school developmental guidance curriculum to scholars.
  • Help village leaders incorporate guidance-related information into existing curriculum.
  • Provide guidance to individuals and groups of scholars to develop Purpose Pathway plans and career awareness.
  • Counsel individuals and small groups.
  • Consult parents, teachers, administrators, and other relevant people to enhance their work with scholars.
  • Use an effective referral process to help scholars and others use special programs and services.

Requirements

  • 3+ Years of Teaching Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Eligibility to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Active Indiana Teaching License preferred, not required
