About the position

Bright Star Schools is seeking a dedicated educator with a Bachelor's degree and a Single Subject CA Credential in Biology. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of urban teaching experience, although this is preferred rather than required. Bilingual skills in Spanish or Korean are desirable but not mandatory. Candidates must possess either an English Learner Authorization (EL Authorization), a Bilingual, Cross-Cultural, Language and Academic Development (BCLAD) certificate, a Cross-Cultural, Language and Academic Development (CLAD) certificate, or a Bilingual Certificate of Competence (BCC).

Responsibilities

  • Submit application via the 'JOIN OUR TEAM' section at www.brightstarschools.org.
  • Complete application includes resume, three professional references, and a completed work experience section.
  • Participate in a phone interview with Bright Star Schools' Talent Team.
  • Attend a school site interview with School Site Leadership and give a model lesson to students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Single Subject CA Credential in Biology (Clear or Preliminary credential required).
  • Two years of urban teaching experience preferred.
  • Possession of either an English Learner Authorization (EL Authorization), Bilingual, Cross-Cultural, Language and Academic Development (BCLAD) certificate, Cross-Cultural, Language and Academic Development (CLAD) certificate, or Bilingual Certificate of Competence (BCC) required.
