About the position
The Instructional Aide at Junction Elementary School plays a crucial role in supporting students with disabilities to achieve academic proficiency in accordance with California Standards. This position involves assisting teachers with classroom activities, tutoring students, supervising groups, and implementing curriculum under the guidance of teachers or principals. The aide is also responsible for managing student behavior and may work one-on-one with students to ensure their safety and educational success.
Responsibilities
- Assist students in becoming academically proficient in the California Standards.
- Support teachers in classroom activities and curriculum implementation.
- Tutor and supervise individual or groups of students.
- Help manage student behavior and provide safety.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or highest college degree completed.
- First aide/CPR certification required before hire.
- Cover letter and resume submission.
- Two signed letters of recommendation.
- Proof of one of the following: Passed 48 units of college coursework, AA degree, Passed CBEST, or Passed ESSA compliant Paraprofessional test.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working in a school setting.
- Familiarity with special education practices.
