As a summer intern, you will gain valuable work experience and also enjoy gallery tours, team-building activities, organized events, networking opportunities and much more. This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week for nine weeks. The internship will be onsite at our Rockefeller Center offices. Internship Dates: June 8th, 2026, to August 7th, 2026. Requirements

  • Rising Junior or Senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in the US at time of application (graduation date between June 2027 and June 2028)
  • Must be able to participate and agree to complete the entirety of the program
  • Passion for fine art, luxury and the auction industry
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to contribute ideas in a collaborative environment

Responsibilities

  • General department administrative tasks as assigned by line manager
  • Keeping all data up to date in Christie’s internal systems
  • Assisting specialists with provenance research, managing the department library and consignor files
  • Responding to inquiries from clients for condition reports, images and fact sheets
  • Researching works for upcoming sales – including both traditional research, using Christie’s onsite libraries, as well as public libraries in New York City, and also online research using auction databases and other internet sources
  • Assist Junior Specialists with cataloguing and condition checks for consigned property
  • Supporting the proposal preparation process
  • Attending “hilling” sessions, during which our specialists review works and share their knowledge
  • Assist with installations for auction previews, which includes compiling, printing, and mounting lot cards for each work
  • Support Analysts with client research; Artnet searches, compiling spreadsheets of competitive sales, and catalogue research for object intelligence
  • Researching works – including both traditional research, using Christie’s onsite libraries, as well as public libraries in New York City, and also online research using auction databases and other internet sources
  • Assist in writing copy and editing images for social media posts
  • Review shipping queue daily, checking for payment and facilitating timely and compliant release of shipments
