About the position

Church & Dwight Co., Inc. is offering a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to join our Finance department as summer interns for 2025. This 10-week internship program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of finance within a dynamic and supportive environment. The internship will commence on May 28th and conclude on August 8th, allowing interns to engage in meaningful projects while developing their professional skills. Interns will have the chance to connect with leadership through a Summer Speaker Series, participate in networking events, and collaborate with peers across different functions. The program emphasizes learning and development, ensuring that interns gain valuable insights into the finance industry while contributing to the company's success. Interns will have the opportunity to support either the Sales Finance or Operations Finance teams. In the Sales Finance role, interns will engage in cross-functional teams, assisting with the delivery of Monthly Business Reviews, shipment versus consumption analysis, and trade effectiveness measurement through Post Promotion Analysis (PPA). They will also work on customer profitability assessments and monthly accrual and projection reviews, focusing on trade accuracy aligned with the monthly PPR cycle. The Operations Finance role will involve month-end close accounting, reporting, and analyses for all plants, as well as guidance on cost accounting submission schedules and balance sheet reconciliations. Interns will also have the chance to work on special projects as determined by management, providing a comprehensive view of the finance function within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in cross-functional teams for Sales Finance or Operations Finance.
  • Assist with Monthly Business Reviews meetings and shipment versus consumption analysis.
  • Support the assessment of customer checkbooks assigned annual/quarterly quotas.
  • Measure trade effectiveness through Post Promotion Analysis (PPA) and make recommendations for optimal use of trade funds.
  • Analyze customer P&Ls leveraging the Cost-2-Serve Model for profitability improvement.
  • Conduct monthly accrual and projection reviews focusing on trade accuracy.
  • Report and scorecard compliance with Trade Fund Management Policy, identifying risk areas and making recommendations.
  • Engage in daily/weekly/monthly standard financial reporting including overspend and actualization.
  • Provide customer profitability training to the Sales Force to enhance financial acumen.
  • Assist with month-end close accounting, reporting, and analyses for all plants in Operations Finance.
  • Support guidance on cost accounting submission schedules for Quarterly PPR's and Annual Plan.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations including rebates and production variances.
  • Reconcile quantity and price discrepancies that may delay invoice payments.
  • Work on special projects as determined by management.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate students who have completed at least two years of college coursework (rising Junior or rising Senior).
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a closely related discipline.
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn how to interface with different platforms and engage with various company systems.
  • Ability and interest in working a hybrid schedule in Ewing, NJ.
  • Experience in Microsoft 365 applications is required; some roles may require experience in Power BI, Canva, Figma, TikTok, Instagram, and other relevant platforms.
  • Experience managing multiple timelines and priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and a desire to learn and contribute to a growing company.
  • Candidates must have US Work Authorization (US Citizen, permanent resident, green card holder).
