About the position

The Environmental Science or Engineering Intern at Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) will support the organization in various environmental projects at the Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, South Carolina. This internship is designed for full-time students pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, providing them with hands-on experience in environmental compliance and waste disposal operations.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing projects in the Environmental & Waste Disposal Authority Department.
• Assist with Environmental Compliance Authorities work to ensure operations conform with federal and state regulations.
• Conduct computational calculations and use computer codes to simulate the transportation of chemical or radiological constituents in environmental media.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year university.
• Currently working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above and completed Sophomore year.
• Must pass General Employment Training (GET).
• Must pass Drug and Alcohol Testing (DAT).
