About the position
The Holland America Summer Internship Program is a 10-week paid remote internship designed to provide students with exposure to professional careers in the leisure travel and cruise industry. Interns will engage in departmental projects, professional development, and enrichment activities while gaining valuable experience and skills.
Responsibilities
- Coding, testing, and debugging software applications under the mentorship of experienced developers.
- Migrate legacy code to modern technology stack using best practices and standards.
- Conduct deep dive analysis and ad hoc reporting.
- Understand existing legacy web functionality.
- Develop legacy functionality using ReactJS and RestAPI, including unit testing and test-driven development.
- Partner with QA team to integrate automated or manual testing.
- Collaborate with dev ops to deploy code using Jenkins CI/CD pipeline.
- Participate in agile development processes and team meetings.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a four-year accredited undergraduate program (at least a rising junior) or in a graduate/Ph.D. program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to work independently and remotely while self-managing.
- Well organized with effective communication skills.
