About the position

The Frito-Lay Supply Chain Quality & Food Safety Associate Analyst position at PepsiCo is designed for undergraduate students to apply their academic knowledge in a practical, business-driven environment. The role focuses on analyzing quality and food safety metrics, managing various projects, and collaborating with manufacturing leaders to enhance operational efficiency. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to quality and food safety programs while developing professional skills in a supportive team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis and development of quality and food safety metrics and business processes leveraging Tableau or other analytical tools.
  • Derive insights from multiple QFS metrics and communicate cross-functionally to assist the team in solving operational issues.
  • Administer policies and practices, initiate, and implement projects.
  • Conduct presentations and formal training programs.
  • Improve team communication and engagement.
  • Support and execute various components and activities spanning the quality and food safety programs such as collecting data, business case product analysis, risk assessments, documenting procedures, developing training, auditing, process improvement, and issues management.
  • Be accountable for quality and food safety programs and achievement of line performance metrics.
  • Leverage data analytics techniques such as data/text mining, machine learning, pattern matching, visualization, and statistics to create meaningful insights.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Food Processing Engineering, Food Science, Microbiology, Agriculture/Biological Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (other related majors will be considered).
  • Working knowledge of Python, Tableau, and other reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Highly motivated self-starters.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment with the ability to make tradeoff decisions quickly.
  • Ability to work on large projects and manage time and effort without need for constant supervision.
  • Ability to give/receive constructive feedback.
  • Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment.
  • Experience with statistical modeling and developing reporting tools.
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills.
  • Communication skills to work with all levels of the organization from manufacturing employees to corporate executives.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
