About the position

As an Entry Level Staff Engineer in the Marine & Waterfront division at Tighe & Bond, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team that includes engineers, landscape architects, planners, and environmental professionals. This position is based in our Portsmouth, NH office, where you will work in a hybrid environment, allowing for a blend of in-office and remote work. You will engage in a variety of infrastructure and complex land use projects, contributing to the design and implementation of essential improvements in marine and waterfront facilities. Your role will involve assisting with a diverse range of projects, including port and pier infrastructure improvements, seawalls, revetments, shoreline restoration, bulkheads, and various geo-structural projects. You will be responsible for designing and computer modeling, preparing technical specifications and cost estimates, and generating reports and correspondence. Additionally, you will observe construction activities, supervise contractors, perform shop drawing and submittal reviews, and create as-builts and record plans. Responsibilities

  • Assist with a variety of projects such as port, pier, dock, and industrial waterfront facility infrastructure improvements.
  • Design and computer modeling for various geo-structural projects.
  • Prepare technical specifications and cost estimates.
  • Generate reports and correspondence related to projects.
  • Observe construction activities and supervise contractors.
  • Perform shop drawing and submittal reviews.
  • Create as-builts and record plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Plan to complete the FE exam and eventually the PE exam.
  • Internship experience or full-time experience in surveys, site engineering, design, permitting, or construction observation is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and hydraulic/hydrologic studies and modeling is a plus.
