About the position
The General Resource Teacher at Garside, Frank JHS is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This role focuses on creating an inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic and social growth for students with disabilities. The teacher will collaborate with other educators and staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement effective teaching strategies tailored to each student's needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a resource setting.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
- Monitor and assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance and needs.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid teaching license in Special Education.
- Minimum of 7 years of teaching experience, preferably in a resource or special education setting.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves

- Certification in behavior management strategies.
