About the position
The Bookkeeper is responsible for performing all phases of the store front end accounting operations, ensuring that all accounting operations are conducted to company standards in an accurate and efficient manner. This role combines cashier duties with bookkeeping responsibilities, requiring a friendly demeanor and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Making effective and objective decisions regarding bookkeeping, purchase and use of office supplies and equipment.
- Answering telephones courteously and routing calls to the appropriate department or taking written messages.
- Responsible for accuracy of store bookkeeping functions, including maintaining the current store bookkeeping report and daily banking procedures.
- Daily monitoring of all sales receipts, preparation and verification of bank deposits, and cash variation reports.
- Monitoring NSF checks and bad debts with appropriate postings and notifications.
- Assisting in auditing work and responding to company accountants.
- Maintaining a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and team members.
- Engaging with customers through smiles and greetings, offering product information and selling suggestions.
- Focusing on providing fast and friendly customer service.
- Processing cash register transactions, including inputting product costs and giving back change.
- Keeping the office, customer service counter, and check stand clean, neat, and orderly.
- Performing all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must be 21 years of age for any position that serves alcohol.
