About the position

The Civil Site Design Engineer at Indian Eyes LLC is responsible for applying advanced technical expertise in civil engineering to resolve complex design challenges, particularly within the DOE Nuclear Complex. This role involves leading task teams, providing technical training, and developing solutions for various civil engineering tasks, including site grading, drainage, and utility design. The engineer will also be responsible for preparing design deliverables and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical experience in civil engineering to resolve complex problems.
  • Incorporate advanced technical practices into problem solving and program planning.
  • Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex engineering problems.
  • Develop solutions to complex technical problems in civil engineering.
  • Keep informed on technical needs and trends in civil engineering.
  • Identify and initiate technical programs with minimal guidance.
  • Lead task teams for developing solutions to complex problems.
  • Prepare plans including schedules, budgets, and personnel requirements for technical tasks.
  • Monitor progress, expenditures, and quality of work performed.
  • Communicate results and objectives to customers and colleagues.
  • Prepare reports for external publication.
  • Provide technical training for civil engineering tasks, including hydrologic calculations and site drainage design.

Requirements

  • An advanced degree in Civil Engineering or related field with significant experience (Ph.D. with 10 years, MS with 12 years, or BS with 15 years).
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years of recent Civil Site Design Engineering experience in the DOE Nuclear Complex.
  • Proficiency in DOE Nuclear Complex Design Engineering processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in 2D Microstation CADD and familiarity with Bentley Inroads.
  • Working knowledge of applicable National Codes and Standards and South Carolina Environmental Regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with preparing Design Change Packages (DCP).
  • Familiarity with Construction Specification Institute (CSI) specifications.
