Our goal is to build a community that helps people make confident career decisions from the day they start working to the day they retire—and we are looking for a Senior Content Manager.

In this role you will be creating and posting content - with a heavy focus on short form- across all channels.  Just like resumes, content needs to be tailored to each audience and we plan to trust your expertise in adapting and generating content to fit the nuances of different audiences in order build an engaged, and loyal following across them.

You will be working directly with our CEO, and Director of Talent who are both comfortable on camera, as well as appearing in fun and educational content yourself  that will grow Teal's member base.

Responsibilities

  • Run the content creation process across all social media, including videos, text, and graphic posts. You will become a face and person that Teal followers know and look forward to seeing on their feeds.
  • Leverage our deep catalogue of long form and written content to create educational content and understand industry best practices.
  • Experiment, experiment, and experiment some more. Some of it will fail and that’s ok! We will provide feedback and you can keep trying new stuff while continuing to replicate what is working.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions across all social media channels to foster a community and build engagement.
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of social media trends, tools, and best practices. Translation: Know when the very demure trend is outdated and tell us how embarrassing it would be if we tried to use it now. It’s probably already outdated by the time we posted this! You could have stopped us!
  • Monitor the news, forums, and discussion on Reddit to hear that the people want. You'll find joy in reading r/careerhacks or r/recruitinghell for content ideas
  • Develop strategies to grow and retain our followers across all platforms including maintaining our posting schedule and data to learn what’s working and change what’s not.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing a brand’s social media accounts directly in house and being a part of the content, or experience as a UGC creator with desire to own and build a single brand
  • A creator mindset with In-depth knowledge of major social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Reddit and their best practices. We don’t expect an expert at everything, but you should be comfortable with and interested in them all
  • A passion for staying up to date on the latest industry and social media trends to inform content strategy and an interest in improving the career and job search world.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience working in a startup environment where we are not just planners, but doers
  • Experience creating content for SaaS or B2C products
  • Experience in graphic design and video editing is a plus (Photoshop, Figma, Canva, Capcut etc.). We don’t expect video and photo editing to be your full time job, but do want you to make the obvious and needed edits to your content.

Skills & Tools You Will Use And Learn

These are the tools our team uses, while experience in each is not a requirement, we do hope you’ll feel comfortable with some and continue to learn the rest.

  • Social Media platforms including Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Reddit
  • YouTube tools such as Tube Buddy (or similar)
  • Design tools such as Canva and Figma
  • Video tools such as Adobe Premier, Adobe After Effects, Riverside and Capcut (or similar tools)
  • Airtable

What Great Looks Like

1 Week:

  • You have a good understanding of Teal’s current content strategy and processes, workflows, and team dynamics and are comfortably integrated into the team
  • You’ve begun to learn Teal’s approach to careers and job searching and some of the industry best practices as well as gained an understanding of jobseeker needs
  • You’ve been creating and publishing content to Teal’s channels and are getting more comfortable talking about careers everyday

1 month:

  • We are in flow, moving at speed because of the prior foundational work, and getting into the rhythm of being a well-oiled content machine
  • You’ll advise on which social media content we should be creating across channels and finding creative ways to serialize it thematically to drive engagement and user sign-ups
  • We’ll see growth on several accounts that directly correlates to the strategy you’ve implemented
  • We are active on all main content platforms

3 months:

  • We have robust content creation workflow that is producing content on all major social platforms multiple times daily
  • We are seeing a lift in branded search across all platforms
  • Members are sharing the insights they are learning from our content

What We Offer

  • Salary: $85,000-100,000
  • Incentive Stock Options proportionate to salary
  • Fully remote work (U.S. only) & remote office stipend (coworking, laptop, etc.)
  • No company-wide meetings on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays

  • As mentioned, we are fully remote, however once per year we pay for the entire company to fly to the same city for a week of fun projects and general team building, think hackathons, boat rides and great food
  • Guaranteed 1-month severance if we decide things didn’t work out. You are trusting us with your career, and we want you to know we take it seriously

Technical Interview

  • Goal: Dig deeper into the day to day of the job
  • 60 minute Zoom with Dave Fano, CEO, Mike Peditto, Director of Talent and Director of Content Camille Trent
  • We will ask do a live social media audit together of an account we like and ask your thoughts and input, followed by working on a creative brief together
  • We make sure to preserve time for your questions.

Values Interview

  • Goal: Meet more of the team and get an understanding of what it’s like to work at Teal
  • 60-minute Zoom with 2 Teal employees
  • We make sure to preserve time for your questions.
  • We will provide the question and guidance in advance.

Paid Work Trial

  • Goal: See you in action and let you work closely with your potential team, If you have reached this step, we are hoping that we have found out person.
  • You will be given a  project to work on over a week and full access to any Teal resource and employee you need
  • You will be paid a rate in line with the salary for the role, we are not looking for free work
  • This is a mostly async process but you will be expected to join 1 all company meeting and participate in our company Slack.
